After what has been a dull start in the transfer window, it is time for the Chelsea fans to chear up again as the latest Chelsea transfer news indicates that current English premier league champions Chelsea football club has agreed a double deal to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2017/2018 season.
Having strolled to the league title in his first season in English football Antonio Conte knows well enough about the challenges that lie ahead if he and his Chelsea FC players are to retain the trophy and challenge for the Champions league too.
Chelsea rivals have been busy bolstering their squad since the close of the season with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester united, Arsenal, and Liverpool making some top signings already.
As usual, recent Chelsea transfer news have been filled with rumours linking Chelsea to all the top players in Europe but none of those rumours had materialized with reports even suggesting that Antonio Conte was ready to walk away from the club due to failure of the club to meet his transfer target.
All those seem to have changed though as reports from sky sports indicate Chelsea have agreed a £33.4m deal with AS Roma to sign long term target, Antonio Rudiger.
Chelsea will pay Roma the sum of £29m up-front with a further £4.4m in add-ons has been sealed between the clubs. The 24-year-old Germany centre-back will undergo a medical on Monday and finalize personal terms on a five-year contract according to Sky Sports. Official announcement is yet to be made.
Having lost veteran captain John Terry, Chelsea has been linked with the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Virjil Van Djik, Napoli’s Koulibaly and more recently, Rudiger’s Roma teammate Kostas Manolas who stalled on a deal to Zenit St. Petersburg.

Recent Chelsea transfer news has also indicated that Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Monaco’s French Midfield sensation Tiemoué Bakayoko for reported sum of £35million. Bakayoko has already passed his medical with an official announcement imminent.
Having helped Monaco to the Ligue 1 title and Champions league semi-final last season, the 22year old has decided to take up a new challenge. Bakayoko‘s arrival may spell an end to Nemanja Matic’s second spell at Chelsea with reports already claiming that Matic has agreed a deal to re-unite with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
Meanwhile Chelsea has sold Nathan Ake to Bournemouth for a club record fee of £20million. The young and promising versatile defender spent the first half of last season at Bournemouth before being recalled in January by Chelsea. Though the price is good, I think Ake may have been another younger talent being sold too early by Chelsea.
